The firm

Three lawyers, three kinds of table

One lawyer for the board, one for assessments, one for the homeowner. We divide the work so that no one at the firm sits on both sides of a community.

  • Matilda Brauer in a navy blazer, holding papers in her office

    Matilda Brauer

Founding attorney: board counsel and governing documents

Advises volunteer boards and rewrites the documents they live under.

  • Hiram Aldridge in a dark suit and striped tie at his desk

    Hiram Aldridge

    Attorney: assessments and collections

Writes collection policies and payment plans for associations.

  • Verity Dalrymple smiling at her desk in a white blouse

    Verity Dalrymple

    Attorney: homeowner disputes

Answers violation letters and goes to hearings with homeowners.

How we divide the work

One side of a community, never both

Every community we work with has one client at the firm.

Matilda and Hiram act for associations. Verity acts for homeowners in communities where the firm does not advise the association. We check for a conflict before the first real conversation, and tell you if we cannot take the matter.

  • A conflict check before any documents change hands

  • No lawyer here acts for both sides of a community

  • If we can't help, we say so and suggest where to look
